EMPLOYMENT ENDEAVORS    Dave's Sales Chart  Janet's Nursing Records

After having been a Golf Course Superintendent for twenty-six years, Dave made the decision to leave the profession to try another slant in the "green industry".  He concluded, that as a superintendent, he was continually selling himself, his budgets, and his plans for the courses, so he decided to join the ranks of sales representatives in the turf grass maintenance equipment industry.  He was employed by the G.L. Cornell Company  in Gaithersburg, Maryland, in 1989, until his retirement in January of 2000.  His territory was Northern Virginia with some accounts in the District of Columbia, they included golf courses, commercial businesses, local, state, and federal government properties.  Since retirement, he now has plenty of free time to spend with his wife, Janet, and with his numerous hobbies and projects.  He managed the company website and helped out at the conferences and field days for over a year after retirement but now is content to work on his own website and his Knights of Columbus duties, those being their newsletter/website editor.  His love for the golf course has led him back to work full time, at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, Virginia ( http://www.svgcgolf.com ) and as a perk, he can play golf anytime he wishes, gratis.  To view the Knight's website which Dave designed and published, click on the following link:   http://www.kofcwoodstock.com    He also designed and published a website for the Catholic church in Woodstock, St. John Bosco Catholic Church, click on the link for a viewing:  http://www.sjbwoodstock.org

Janet, after being in hospital nursing for over thirty years also made the decision to leave the hassle, stress, and long hours on the road and to settle down in an office nursing environment.  She worked part time in a private doctor's office in Oakton, Virginia, before moving to the Valley in August of 2001.  Yes, we have up and moved to Woodstock, Virginia...this is the home of the three car backup, instead of the 300 car backup in the Washington metro area we have endured for the past thirty six years, give or take a couple...anyway, we have slowed down our pace and enjoy our retirement years with some very special friends...if you like the slow pace in a town of three thousand residents, come on down, we're in the wonderful Shenandoah Valley between Winchester and Harrisonburg, just off Interstate 81...Janet too, after two years here in the Valley, has decided to dabble with some part time endevors.  She took a two day a week sojourn with the Watchful Tiger, a women's boutique in Edinburg, Virginia.   ( http://www.thewatchfultiger.com )It got her out of the house and involved her with some interesting shoppers in the Valley and beyond.  Alas, after working in the shop for over two years, her time was cut and she became unhappy with the the employment.  She ultimately resigned her position in June of 2006.  She also donates one day a week with the Shenandoah County Pregnancy Center in Edinburg, Virginia, helping with the phones and with some of the training operations and may, ultimately, add to her time with the Center.
